LIBERTYVILLE LIONS CLUB Celebrates 75th Anniversary

75th Libertyville Lions Anniversary PinOn February 21, 2009, the Libertyville Lions Club celebrated its 75th anniversary at the Country Squire Restaurant in Grayslake, IL.  Chaired by the 2008/9 President, Lion Dan Knoila, the meeting was a beautiful event with displays of Libertyville’s proud history.  Over 60 guests attended the festivities. The guest speaker was PID Russell Sarver, Lion Van C. Stone, Executive Director of Lions of Illinois Foundation located in Sycamore, Illinois, as well as various zone chairman and their guests. Awards were presented to numerous members including Foundation and Melvin Jones awards.

USA-Canada Lions Leadership Forum

Milwaukee invites you to experience the people, places and possibilities of this jewel of the Great Lakes. The city will play host to the 2010 USA-Canada Lions Leadership Forum, which will be held at the Midwest Airlines Center Sept. 23-25. Along with attending Forum activities, Milwaukee offers visitors attractions, theater, museums, sports and more that will surprise and delight as you tour the Greater Milwaukee area.

Bingo!– Libertyville Lions Club to sponsor Bingo at Winchester House

BingoLibertyville Lions Club will sponsor Bingo at Winchester House (1125 North Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville) on Saturday, January 30th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Club members will help set up, run the games, assist residents to and from the common game area and help clean up.

This is a great opportunity for club members to participate in a hands-on service activity that enriches the community.  All club members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Move to Grow Green – Earth Day Fair in Libertyville

Hundreds turned out for the Earth Day Fair in Libertyville on April 24th from 12:00 noon – 4:00 p.m.  The Libertyville Lions Club was among a number of community organizations that participated in the recycling and educational event sponsored by the Lake County Green Congregations.

Eyeglasses, cell phones, keys, and aluminum can tabs were some of the items collected by Libertyville Lions Club volunteers.  The donated items will be sent to the Lions of Illinois Foundation for sight and hearing services.
